Planetary History

Star League Era

Zhongshan was founded by settlers from Terra before the formation of the Star League.[1] During the final years of the Star League, Zhongshan was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[40]

Red Corsair Raid

In May 3055, a pirate band of unknown origin led by the Red Corsair attacked Zhongshan. The militia sacrificed themselves attempting to delay the raiders long enough for reinforcements to arrive. They managed to hold them long enough for the Thirty-first Wolf Solahma Cluster to arrive in-system. However, rather than face the Wolves, the Corsairs chose to escape.[41]

Dark Ages Era

In 3087 Clan Jade Falcon attempted to capture Zhongshan but was unsuccessful.[42][43][44][45][46] The Falcons tried again sometime between 3135 and 3145, this time successfully taking the world.[37][38]

ilClan Era

After the Falcon touman was devastated on Terra, Zhongshan regained its independence.[2] During this vacuum the Pearl Dragon Mining Corporation, a company that fled the world when the Falcons invaded, hired mercenaries to recover their lost holdings from the Great Eagle AgroWorks Union.[47][48]

Geography

Zhongshan has five continents named Hē De (or Fong[See Notes]), Scott's Rocks, Eastland, Guangdong, and Pelican's Roost.[1]

The main continental mass (either Hē De or Fong) hosts the majority of the population clustered around the coastline. The Pearl Dragon River and her many tributaries make for fertile farmland along the river and delta. Most of the surface water is contained in the man marshes, rivers, lakes, and coastlines that serve as native habitat to the many amphibian lifeforms.[1]

Planetary Locations

  • Hē De or Fong (continent)
    • Zuhai: capital city, upriver from Pearl Dragon River Delta[1]
    • Pearl Dragon River[1]
    • Eagle Mountains: to the east of the Pearl Dragon River
    • Great Eagle AgroWorks: Located in the Pearl Dragon Basin the AgroWorks extend from the river to the Eagle Mountains

Notes

^ The main continental mass is listed as both Hē De and Fong.[1] Errata has been submitted for this inconsistency.
