The Dragon Frog is a species of amphibian native to Zhongshan, found in and around the Pearl River. Dragon Frogs were large animals, growing to over 200 kilograms. Colorful frills lined their bodies, up to three metres long. They spent most of their adult lives in the grasslands, returning to the River in breeding season.[1]
The inhabitants of Zhongshan traditionally celebrated Dragon Frog breeding season.[1]
