History
Tremain Garson was a Duke within the aristocracy of the Magistracy of Canopus during the thirty-first century. When the pirate band known as the Crimson Sabres savaged Novo Tressida in the 3060s they killed a number of people, including Tremain. The Pike's Pikemen mercenary command was hired in response to Tremain's death, and to protect both the planet and Tremain's successor, Duke Cornel Garson.[1]
The Pikemen would be instrumental in protecting Cornel, fighting a key battle against the Sabres that resulted in the capture of the pirate Hanson Toliver, who revealed that the Sabres were being funded by Baron Keith Garson, second in line to Tremain's title and cousin to Cornel.[1]
