Unachievable Precedent
I think this article is very much going into excessive detail in regards to having a list of known artillery batteries. Once we have a list of artillery batteries do we do a similar thing for armor regiments or 'Mech regiments? I would think not because we would quickly end up with lists with thousands of entries. As such this article format is setting an unachievable precedent for how such articles should be formatted.--Dmon (talk) 10:05, 22 August 2024 (EDT)
- That's a fair observation, my original intention was to showcase some examples of artillery units that were organized as batteries because I hadn't found very many of them. That being said, there's a lot of canon support forces and subunits with interesting details written about them that would be nice to collate for RPG-style gameplay, maybe it should be it's own project or added to another existing one? What do you think? In the meantime, I'm going mark out that table so it doesn't show on the page. --CaptGrognards3025 (talk) 12:19, 22 August 2024 (EDT)
- This is a page explaining the military formation and it's function, not anything else. Any sort of extra work isn't needed here. Almost to the point in doesn't need it's own page and can be placed with the other IS military formations and their uses. Remember BTW isn't the place for additional details when they aren't simply the facts. --Deadfire (talk) 12:42, 22 August 2024 (EDT)
