Ano Rentoshi was an officer in the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery, where he commanded the First Sword of Light regiment.

History

As of 3025, "General" Ano Rentoshi was listed as commanding officer of the First Sword of Light, then stationed on Luthien.[1]

In 3039 he was still in command on the unit, and as of 4 May Tai-sa Rentoshi was present with Warlord (Tai-shu) Teyasu Ashora in the District HQ on Pesht.[2]

He subsequently led his regiment in a successful counterattack recapturing Halstead Station during the War of 3039.[2][3] During the assault on Halstead Station his rank is (possibly erroneously) given as Tai-sho in the Historical: War of 3039 treatise.

As of 3049, the First Sword of Light regiment was commmanded by Tai-sa Shigeru Yoshida;[4] Rentoshi is not mentioned and his fate after 3039 is unstated.

Ano Rentoshi makes an apocryphal appearance in the Ghost Bear's Legacy expansion pack for the MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat video game. In this expansion pack's storyline, which is set in 3058, Rentoshi is supposedly still (or again) the commanding officer of the First Sword of Light and is stationed with his unit on Wolcott. In 3050 he had lost his BattleMech in a battle against Clan Smoke Jaguar on Jeanette. This 'Mech was salvaged by the Smoke Jaguars and later used in a false flag operation against Clan Ghost Bear in 3058. This prompted a Clan Ghost Bear force to investigate and track down Ano Rentoshi on Wolcott, where he informs the Ghost Bears about the loss of his 'Mech in the Jeanette raid.

BattleMechs

In the game, Rentoshi piloted a Hatamoto-Chi BattleMech on Wolcott in 3058.
