Ano Rentoshi in canon versus Rentoshi in video games.

This page only appears to contain references to Rentoshi from (non canon) MW2: Ghost Bear Legacy, which is apparently set in 3050 during the Clan invasion. This page implies that Rentoshi was in command of the 1st Sword of Light at some time during the Clan Invasion.

However, according to the sarna pedia article for the 1st Sword of Light, Rentoshi was the CO of the 1st Sword of Light before the Clan invasion canonically (302x era House Kurita sourcebook/3039 War of 3039 sourcebook), with Shigeru Yoshida commanding the 1st Sword from immediately before the Clan Invasion (3049 20 Year Update sourcebook) until at least 3058 (as per Field Manual: DC).

So, basically, canon sez that Rentoshi was not in commmand of the 1st Sword at any time during the Clan Invasion, and non canon MW2: Ghost Bear's Legacy sez that Rentoshi was in command of the 1st Sword at some time during the Clan Invasion.

I assume that canon takes precedence over non canon. If the assumption is correct, what are some recommendations to address a conflict between canon and non canon?

You are correct. Ano Rentoshi is a fully canonical character mentioned in the House Kurita (The Draconis Combine), Historical: War of 3039 and Combat Manual: Kurita sourcebooks. The canon information from these sources should lead the article and the apocryphal MW2/GBL information should then be added into the article, with the appropriate apocryphal tagging. I think the lede is entirely based on MW2: Ghost Bear Legacy as well, specifically the part about being in command of the 1st Sword while the 1st Sword was stationed on Chandler. The 1st Sword article and the Chandler article never mention that the 1st Sword was based on Chandler, so it is assumed it comes from MW2.
