Plot Summary
Star Captain Joseph Bedford leads the Thunder Cats Trinary of the Spirit Cats to the planet Zollikofen on a Haven Quest. Once there, one of their patrol stars under Star Commander Malisa Nova Cat runs into a detachment of Stormhammers intent on controlling the planet, and the two sides clash. In the battle, a valuable Cave Lion BattleMech is captured by the Stormhammers. Joseph Bedford bids with the Stormhammers Hauptmann Robert Kelley for possession of the Cave Lion over a game of chess, but is undermined by his disloyal Star Commander Moxica. Moxica leads a sneak attack during the trial on the Stormhammers which ultimately fails, and the Stormhammers grant hegira to the Spirit Cats. At the conclusion, Joseph Bedford resists the urge to execute Moxica for his betrayal, stating he will stand trial. He then declares he will return and reclaim the Cave Lion for his Clan.
