Star Captain Joseph Bedford was a MechWarrior, who served with the Spirit Cats' Omicron Cluster, during the Dark Age Era.[1]
Personal Appearance
Joseph was tall with brown hair and green eyes flecked with gold. He often maintained a poor posture. He could be often seen wearing a wedding band on his left hand.
History
Joseph was born to a Republic Armed Forces father and a Nova Cat Elemental mother in the Republic of the Sphere. His father died shortly after he entered a Nova Cat sibko. He joined Galaxy Commander Kev Rosse's Spirit Cats faction sometime before or shortly after the Blackout. Despite his freeborn status, he made the rank of Star Captain in Omicron Cluster, and led the Cluster's Thunder Cats Trinary by 3133. He met and fell in love with Malisa Nova Cat, a fellow freeborn warrior in the Shiva Keshik. She transferred to his Trinary following the matrimony. He was dispatched to Zollikofen on a Haven Quest in 3133, where he encountered a group of Stormhammers who had gotten possession of the Trinary's irreplaceable Cave Lion BattleMech. He made an unorthodox bid of a game of chess over the fate of the Cave Lion, offering up his own Hellstar as a prize. Despite nearly winning the bid, he was betrayed by his Star Commander Moxica whose hatred of freeborn warriors led to him launching an unsanctioned attack on the Stormhammers. The Stormhammers rallied and defeated the attack, before intimidating the Spirit Cats from attacking a second time. Before leaving Zollikofen, he swore he would return and reclaim the Cave Lion for his Clan.
Joseph was a Christian due to his father's rearing and found it difficult to reconcile his Inner Sphere and Clan heritages. He hesitated to kill unless absolutely necessary, which made other Clansmen think less of him.
BattleMech
Joseph piloted a Hellstar BattleMech. It's nickname is unknown. It's user passcode comes from the Gospel of Matthew 6:24.
