Rai Githor was the commanding officer of the Twenty-first Galedon Regulars during the War of 3039.[1]

History

On 8 August 3039, a reconnaissance force of Tai-sa Githor's Twenty-first Galedon Regulars arrived on Bergman's Planet to determine why the Draconis Combine had lost contact with the planetary government. When this recon force reported the presence of a hostile mercenary unit and strong insurgent activity, the rest of the Twenty-first Galedon made preparations to arrive on 5 September. Githor's advance troops spent the interim period skirmishing with Lindon's Battalion and their Armed Forces of the Federated Suns Special Forces allies, with the latter force proving to be the bigger threat. On 23 August, the AFFS operatives nearly managed to kill the recon team's entire officer corps while a second attack on 1 September destroyed a field base and a company of Regulars MechWarriors. When Githor arrived and assumed control of operations, he treated the opposing forces with a heavy hand.[1]

Githor began by occupying the capital city of New Palermo with a sea of soldiers before performing a door-to-door search of every building in the city. These tactics captured hundreds of insurgents in the capital and, when applied to other settlements on the world, thousands of additional prisoners would be taken in the scouring of Bergman's Planet. The one major assault attempted by Lindon's Battalion targeted the internment camps Githor built for these political prisoners, with disastrous results. Githor's Regulars ravaged the mercenaries even as their Special Forces teams freed 2,500 prisoners, before the rescue teams and three hundred armed insurgents were eliminated themselves. When Githor then recaptured all of the freed prisoners within a week, Lindon's Battalion conceded defeat and left the world to the Combine unit.[1]
