Protagonists: Cobalt Star
Each playable character has six skills. Three are always Melee, Evasion, and Handling, while the other three differ depending on the character. Levels 5, 10, 16, 22, and 28 unlock an Affinity slot, which increases the effectiveness of pilot skills with particular 'Mech chassis or weight classes.
