Leftenant Lisel "Puncha-Puncha" Esdaile was a MechWarrior, who served in the Twentieth Avalon Hussars Regimental Combat Team's Eighth Company, as of 3028.[2]

Physical Appearance

Esdaile was considered to be an elfin woman, only barely tall enough to pilot a 'Mech.[1]

History

Crazy Eights

In 3021 Esdaile was assigned to C Lance, of Eighth Company ("the Crazy Eights"), with the Twentieth Avalon Hussars' Charlie Battalion.[2] During the period 3025 and 3030, she was credited with four 'Mech kills while fighting for the Crazy Eights, mostly using melee attacks.

While she had hoped for promotion after the retirement of Crazy Eights CO Captain Ehud Green at the end of the Fourth Succession War, Esdaile was not actually well suited for anything greater than a Lance command, and so did not advance beyond the rank of leftenant. Bounced between unimportant roles, after being denied a transfer to a frontline unit during the War of 3039, Esdaile left active service in 3041.[1]

Axman

A great lover of melee attacks during her combat career, who always rushed into close range, after her retirement in 3041 she worked as a consultant to Johnston Industries on their development of the Axman BattleMech. She particularly campaigned against the AXM-2N variant, whose focus on long-range bombardment didn't not match her own preferences.[1]

BattleMech

Esdaile was known to have piloted a CGR-1A1 Charger BattleMech,[2], known as Pejman’s Folly. The last member of the Crazy Eights' to pilot this 'Mech, it initially joined the unit in 2864, when it was captured during a famous incident by Crazy Eights' MechWarrior Sergeant James Pejman. Shortly before Esdaile's retirement, in 3040, the 'Mech was removed from service to act as a war trophy kept at the New Avalon Institute of Science.

This 'Mech remained at the NAIS, until the 3067 Siege of New Avalon during the Word of Blake Jihad, when it was pressed back into service in an act of desperation, before being destroyed in combat.[3]
