Taran Sender was a Bloodnamed officer of the Wolf Empire during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
Star Colonel Taran won his rank in an unusual trial shortly after attaining his Sender Bloodname, although Khan Alaric Ward refused to give him the Cluster command that his rank normally entailed. Taran challenged the Khan's decision and was badly beaten for it, although Khan Ward admired the warrior's drive and instead assigned him to a special mission. Tasked with locating a lost Star League project named Butterfly intended to improve the connection between MechWarriors and their machines, Taran stood to gain personally from his search by obtaining an alternative for the EI implants that would ultimately cripple him.[1]
Taran's search soon took him to the Spinward Federated Suns, where the local Armed Forces of the Federated Suns militia quickly learned to leave him and his supporting Star alone—although Draconis Combine occupying troops still regularly engaged him. On the world of Defiance, Taran's normally-unanswered batchall was unexpectedly met by Captain Dallas Sortek of the Sixth Crucis Lancers. The duel between the Wolf and the FedSuns soldier lasted for some time and both warrior's BattleMechs suffered significant damage before Sortek offered to yield in return for the details of Taran's mission. The Star Colonel agreed, indicating that he was tracing the path of the SLS Crow's Eye, which had gone missing in the region in 2677.[2]
The last known sighting of Star Colonel Taran was in January 3150, on the Combine-occupied world of Sullivan. On that world, the Wolf's Star lost three 'Mechs to a headhunter attack launched by elements of the Second Genyosha before the arrival of a Star from Clan Snow Raven's Beta Galaxy drove off the Combine's forces. After a tense conversation, the Snow Ravens left the planet with Taran and his remaining soldiers in tow.[2]

Star Colonel Taran Sender piloted a Skinwalker (Ryoken III) OmniMech, which was taken along with him by Clan Snow Raven.[2]
