History
Captain Sortek was stationed on Defiance during the late Dark Age when Star Colonel Taran Sender of the Wolf Empire arrived on-world. The Star Colonel announced a batchall expecting it to go unanswered and was thus surprised when Sortek responded to his challenge in the proper way. The ensuing Trial of Possession lasted for quite some time, with Taran's OmniMech losing all of its weapons and Sortek's own machine losing both arms. Finally, the Federated Suns soldier offered to yield if the Wolf would explain his presence in FedSuns space. The Star Colonel agreed, explaining that he was on the trail of the lost Star League ship SLS Crow's Eye, which had vanished in that region in 2677.[1]
