Vigo Hall was a Bloodnamed warrior and commanding officer of the Ghost Bear Dominion's Beta Galaxy during the Second Combine-Dominion War.[1]

History

Second Combine-Dominion War

Itabaiana

In early 3099, Galaxy Commander Vigo was ordered by Khan Aletha Kabrinski to take the entirety of Beta Galaxy and destroy the Clan Nova Cat logistical facility being built on Itabaiana with the assistance of the Draconis Combine. Vigo was further ordered to avoid engaging with any Combine troops, as the Dominion had no interest in broadening the scope of its war with the Nova Cats. Landing on 9 April and striking out against the sole defended territory on the planet–the logistics facility itself–Vigo became convinced that the defending Third Pesht Regulars had integrated Nova Cat warriors into their ranks after enduring probing attacks from Combine troops in Nova Cat-designed BattleMechs. No longer believing there was a reason for caution, Beta Galaxy stormed through the Third Regulars' prepared defenses and destroyed all but a company of Combine soldiers within fifty minutes of direct fighting.[1]

When the surviving members of the Third Regulars retreated into the factory for their last stand, Galaxy Commander Vigo decided to fulfill his mission objective in the most expedient manner available. Vigo's ensuing artillery bombardment leveled the facility and killed both a majority of the remaining Draconis warriors and the Nova Cat factory workers they were assigned to protect. Ultimately, the spreading of combat footage showing Beta Galaxy's decimation of the Third Regulars inflamed the Combine's citizenry and lead the nation to take a direct role in the conflict between the Dominion and Nova Cats.[1]

Irece

Galaxy Commander Vigo's next assignment placed him at the head of both Beta and Omega Galaxy, tasked with invading the Nova Cat capital of Irece and killing Khan Ajax Drummond. On 26 June 3100, Vigo unleashed his furious warriors on Irece with permission to use any means necessary in order to achieve their goals. Opposing them were just over half of the Cats remaining military force, comprised of Drummond's own Rossei Keshik, the Nova Cat Fusiliers, Legionaires, Renegades, and the Dragonsclaw Cluster. The loss of much of the Cats' aerospace cadres on Itabaiana and Asgard allowed the Bears to make an uncontested landing on 7 July, before quickly securing their landing zones around the capital of New Barcella.[2]

Vigo proceeded to split his forces, dispatching Beta Galaxy against the Barcella Battle Armor Facility and Luthien Armor Works while Omega Galaxy forced their way through the capital's heart in order to annihilate the Cat's remaining sibkos and central genetic repository. At the Battle Armor factory, the massive number of Ghost Bear attackers forced the facility's automated defenses into shutting down and Galaxy Commander Hall personally made the first breach through the outer wall. The defending forces of the Legionaries fought hard to prevent a complete rout, concentrating their firepower on every Bear warrior forcing their way through the breach. Simultaneously, the Barcella-LAW plant and its Fusiliers defenders were under intense pressure from the rest of Beta Galaxy, and the sudden appearance of an unidentified company of Combine 'Mechs only served to temporarily boost the Fusiliers' morale before they were destroyed.[2]

The next day, Omega Galaxy began their assault against New Barcella and when Khan Drummond threw himself into the heaviest fighting, the city's Nova Cat defenders steeled themselves and refused to retreat. By the close of the day, Omega Galaxy had made no territorial gains at the cost of over half of its troops, leading the unit's commander to call in the Galaxy's entire DropShip complement for aerial support. The first wave of capital-class missiles launched by Omega's ships annihilated the genetic repository and dealt severe damage to Rossei Keshik, with the second wave burying Khan Drummond alive underneath the rubble of the Irece Prefecture News headquarters. A final wave of missiles was targeted against the Fusiliers and Legionaries still fighting for the planet's industrial facilities, turning both factories into rubble and giving the warriors of Beta Galaxy time to finish off the survivors at their leisure. After eliminating the few surviving Nova Cat warriors and rioting civilians—and once again bombarding both the Battle Armor and LAW factories—Vigo's forces departed from Irece on 9 July, believing their work to be finished.[2]

While Vigo's Galaxies had suffered heavy losses and Khan Drummond would be recovered alive five days following the Bears' departure, Clan Nova Cat's future was effectively dead. Although the majority of their genetic samples had survived the destruction of the repository itself, the Cats' industrial base and military forces were left in ruins and unable to recover by the fighting.[2]
