Template:Lead too long
 | This article's lead section may be too long. |
File:Test Template Info-Icon - Version (2).svg Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]
Usage
Place {{Lead too long}} at the top of articles with more than four paragraphs or an otherwise inordinate amount of content in their lead section.
Purpose
Most articles have a lead length of approximately 250 to 400 words, which suggests that this tag is likely inappropriate unless the lead substantially exceeds that length.
Use {{lead rewrite}} instead of this template if the lead is not unreasonably long but needs to be re-written to focus on the most important information.
Notes
- This template will categorize tagged articles into Category:Introduction cleanup.
