The striped tulip was a type of flowering plant native to Tukayyid, grown in the Prezno Plain region. Striped tulips resembled the Terran tulips they were named for, but they often had bright stripes in the middle of each petal and they grew better in warmer weather than their Terran namesake.[1]
Tukayyid locals actively cultivated striped tulips. The town of Humptulips, named in part for its many tulip orchards, held its yearly Humptulips Tulip Festival every May, celebrating the plant and giving awards for the best varieties.[1]
