Plot Summary

Hauptmann Raymond Jefferson leads an ambush of guerrilla forces against Clan Jade Falcon forces on Coventry that results in the capture of two young Falcon warriors, one of them MechWarrior Tallara. Offering her bondswoman status he takes her under his wing as his aide. Over the next two months of guerrilla warfare, Tallara learns much about life as an Inner Sphere soldier. She also develops a liking for the Coventry Kangaroos used by the guerrillas' mounted infantry. Eventually, she embraces the prospect of becoming something more than merely a Clan warrior.
