Plot Summary
Amidst the Draconis Combine attack on David in 3029, the local farmer Tybalt Jones secretly aids the Federated Suns' defenders.
Avoiding Draconis attention, he helps smuggle food and supplies to the Twelfth Deneb Light Cavalry, and he gathers intelligence on the enemy mercenary command Brion's Legion using his family heirloom Cortez tracked support vehicle. Finally, distracting the Legion's commander Colonel Pythonius Brion with dug-up ground resembling a minefield, Tybalt enables a direct attack on the commander of the enemy mercenaries, shattering the Legion.
