Sergio Melendez was a notable aerospace pilot in the Oriente Protectorate's military during the Victoria War.[1]
History
Captain Melendez's squadron of aerospace fighters was attached to the First and Sixth Oriente Hussars on Ipswich when the planet was invaded by the Capellan Confederation's Red Lancers and Roman's Mounted Fusiliers during the Victoria War. Melendez's pilots took the Confederation's aerospace assets off-guard with their extended range but he was left as the sole survivor of his unit when the enemy forces retreated from the system. Despite this, Melendez participated in the pursuit of the fleeing Capellans and was credited with scoring the final kill of the engagement when he shot down an enemy Poignard as it attempted to escort the departing Confederation DropShips.[1][3]
Aerospace Fighter
Captain Sergio Melendez piloted Cap Killer, an Aquilla Aerospace Fighter that was later passed down to his daughter Lieutenant Colonel Ana Maria Melendez.[2]
