Captain Sergei Tripolskaya was a MechWarrior, who served first the Magistracy of Canopus and later the Holt's Hilltoppers mercenary unit, during the mid thirty-first century.[1]
History
Magistracy of Canopus
A native of the Magistracy, who grew up in that nation together with his older sister Irina Tripolskaya, Sergei eventually became a MechWarrior with the Magistracy Armed Forces. In this role, he served alongside Holt's Hilltoppers in the late 3050s in the New Colony Region, during one of their first contracts after going mercenary.
Several years later, these connections served Sergei well, after his sister had a dispute with her commanding officer which became violent. Defecting from the Magistracy rather than face punishment, Sergei, Irina and her other supporters including the crew of an Invader-class JumpShip and an Overlord-class DropShip, left to join the Hilltoppers.[1]
Holt's Hilltoppers
Accepted into the Hilltoppers as a lieutenant, Sergei fought with his new unit during the 3063 campaign on Ashio, during which he was promoted to command of Crusher Lance after the death of its former CO First Lieutenant Anunt Indrakosit.[1][2] When the Hilltoppers later expanded, he was further promoted to captain, and given command of their new Carnivore Company with whom he remained until at least 3068.[3] Preferring mobility, Sergei drilled his Company in coordinated maneuvers, rather than ambush tactics used by some other Hilltopper elements.
Stationed in the Fronc Reaches in 3068, Sergei considered this location uncomfortable, and it put him and his sister too close to the Magistracy where they were still considered outlaws.[1]

Tripolskaya was known to have piloted a Hunchback BattleMech.[1][2][3]
