Samuel Devalis was a Bloodnamed warrior and officer in the First Dragoncat Cluster of Clan Nova Cat.[1]
History
Star Captain Samuel had a reputation for being a survivor and his exploits during Clan Nova Cat's evacuation from the Clan Homeworlds were legendary within the Nova Cats' ranks, having been personally responsible for the destruction of twelve enemy BattleMechs during the retreat. Samuel was also known for being a philosopher and held the respect of the other Nova Cats for both his wisdom and leadership.[1]
When the rogue Eleventh Alshain Avengers attacked Zeta Galaxy's First Dragoncat Cluster on Yamarovka, then-Star Commander Samuel lead his men against an entire company of Avengers. Although outnumbered, Samuel's Star came away victorious, with Samuel downing six Avengers on his own while anchoring the unit. When Star Commander Zane was killed by an Avengers warrior who broke zellbrigen, Samuel joined the rest of Zeta Galaxy in decimating the Eleventh Avengers in retaliation for Zane's death. Later, when Clan Ghost Bear assaulted Yamarovka, Samuel's already damaged OmniMech was downed in the fighting and he was severely injured. Star Colonel Jal Steiner was responsible for saving Samuel's life, evacuating him to join up with Xi Galaxy along with the rest of the surviving First Dragoncats.[1]
During the Combine-Ghost Bear War, Samuel returned to active service and would go on to win both his Bloodname and a promotion to Star Captain. For his service against the Alshain Avengers and Clan Ghost Bear, Khan Santin West rewarded Samuel with his pick of the newest batch of Nova Cat OmniMechs.[1]
BattleMechs
Star Captain Samuel Devalis piloted a Supernova Assault OmniMech on Yamarovka until it was destroyed by Clan Ghost Bear. Samuel would choose to replace this 'Mech with a Supernova 4 dubbed The Ebony Dragon in memory of Star Commander Zane.[1]
