Roman Tseng was a Bloodnamed officer in the Rasalhague Dominion's Fifth Bear Guards Cluster during the Dark Age Era.[2]
History
Star Commander Roman was a Freeminder like most of Omega Galaxy's former Vega Protectorate troops and was a strong proponent of better integration between Clan Ghost Bear and the people of the Inner Sphere. To that end, Roman viewed the potential conquest of Terra as a means of protecting civilians from the predatory actions of the Great Houses. He also held a particularly negative opinion of the Draconis Combine after facing them in several raids against the Protectorate. A follower of Star Captain Tintavel Tseng, Roman hoped that his superior would earn leadership of the Fifth Bear Guards so that he could Trial for a Trinary command of his own.[1]
In 3150, Roman and the Fifth Bear Guards were stationed on Lambrecht when the planet was attacked by the Draconis Combine's Third An Ting Legion. After surviving the Legion's initial combat drop, the Guards were able to regroup and force the legionnaires out of the planet's capital city of Middle Park before eliminating them entirely. When the Legion attempted to make a final stand in a ruined Castle Brian, Roman stalked the Combine warriors and destroyed two enemy BattleMechs that accepted his challenges to duel. When the survivors of the Combine strike force retreated into a nearby boron mine, Roman lead the Fifth Bear Guards in the pursuit of their foe.[2]
