Rina DelVillar was a Bloodnamed battle armor officer in the Rasalhague Dominion's Third Bear Regulars during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
Star Commander Rina was famous for her persistence, having survived four unsuccessful Trials of Bloodright before successfully acquiring the DelVillar name on her fifth attempt. This persistence carried over into her efforts to attain higher rank, as she repeatedly Trialed for Trinary command even after numerous defeats. Much to her dismay, the other members of her Trinary held a betting pool over when she would finally reach the rank of Star Captain. Despite these setbacks, Rina continued to be a vocal presence within the Third Bear Regulars and was one of the officers responsible for the adoption of Callisto battle armor suits over the standard Elemental design.[1]
During the Third Regulars' invasion of the Draconis Combine world of Lambrecht in April 3150, Rina's Star was tasked with locating and drawing out any hidden militia infantry. When her unit located Lambrecht's defenders, they were not foot or motorized infantry but mechanized infantry with vehicle support. Instead of withdrawing, Rina lead her Star in an assault on the enemy force, utilizing their firepower and mobility to drive the militiamen into retreat while her own troops sustained limited casualties. When the Third An Ting Legion arrived to reinforce the militia weeks later, a lance of Pegasus hovertanks was sent to eliminate Rina's Star in order to clear the path for the Legion's BattleMechs. Rina was able to keep the enemy armor at bay by once again relying on the Callisto's adaptable weaponry and maneuverability, buying enough time for three Points of Elemental battle armor to strike the hovertanks in the rear and force them into the arms of her Callistos.[2]
Having torn the Pegasus lance apart, Rina's Star and their Elemental allies were prepared when the Third An Ting's BattleMechs advanced in expectation of having a clear route. The Third Regulars battle armor swarmed over the Legionnaires' 'Mechs and successfully eliminated two of them before the Combine commander ordered a retreat.[2] Rina's successes during the Lambrecht campaign had her favored to finally win a promotion to Star Captain next time she Trialed for the position.[1]
