Rachel Bartzis was a notable MechWarrior in the Magistracy Armed Forces during the Republic Age.[1]
History
MechWarrior Bartzis and her comrade MechWarrior Alexandria "Lexy" Hoover were on Afarsin in 3129 during an anti-piracy operation. While fighting in a desert environment against two lances of pirate BattleMechs, Bartzis and Hoover used their plasma rifles to overheat their opponents until the destruction of a Crusader's LRM munitions turned the tide of battle.[2][3] While the two soldiers had only been ordered to delay the pirates long enough for the planetary garrison to set up defenses, they managed to successfully rout the band of raiders after a two-hour-long clash. Although they managed to eliminate all of the pirate 'Mechs, their own machines' reliance on ammunition nearly prevented them from finishing the job, as they were forced to eliminate the last, crippled Hollander with their 'Mechs' feet and fists.[1]
