Offa was the commanding officer of the Ghost Bear Dominion's Fourteenth Provisional Garrison Cluster during the Second Combine-Dominion War.[1]
History
Star Colonel Offa and the Fourteenth Provisional Garrison Cluster were stationed on Thule when elements of the Draconis Combine's Thirteenth Sun Zhang Cadre jumped in-system on 23 May 3099. When the Combine forces' leaked communications attributing their slow approach speed to technical difficulties with their DropShips, Offa elected to dispatch his own aerospace assets in order to destroy the Thirteenth Cadre before they could land. The arrival of the rest of the Thirteenth Sun Zhang Cadre on 27 May at a pirate point nineteen hours from Thule's surface proved that Offa had been tricked, as his fighters were now four days away from the planet and unable to contest the Combine's landing efforts. While Offa's warriors were able to inflict significant casualties to the cadets of the Thirteenth Cadre, a full week without air support enabled the Sun Zhang aerospace fighters to achieve total aerial dominance over the battlefield while dealing the Fourteenth PGC nearly fifty percent losses. When the Fourteenth PGC's fighters did return to Thule, it was after ten days of hard acceleration with no rest, preventing the Bear pilots from wrestling superiority from the better-rested Cadre fliers. Offa's unit retreated from Thule on 10 June as the Thirteenth's initial diversionary troops began making planetfall, ceding the world to Combine control.[1]
