Nelson Tokoyama was a notable tank commander in the Ryuken-san during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
Chu-i Tokoyama's company of the Ryuken-san Regiment raided the Federated Suns' planet Sylvan in early 3145, which had a defensive garrison on high-alert and supplemented by two companies of mercenary troops. While the rest of the Ryuken moved to engage the planetary defenders, Tokoyama's two platoons of heavy tanks remained behind to defend the unit's DropShips. Eventually, a company of militia accompanied by two Warlord BattleMechs stumbled upon the landing site and attacked Tokoyama's forces. Tokoyama had set up three layers of defenses, with the final layer residing under the DropShips' protective LRM umbrella. Within two minutes of fighting, the attacking militia had lost one of the Warlords, three hovertanks, and four VTOLs to the withering fire laid down by the Ryuken tankers. When the militiamen attempted to retreat, Tokoyama ordered his machines to charge forward, successfully eliminating the second Warlord.[2][3]
Tokoyama was decorated for disabling and capturing the two FedSuns assault BattleMechs and his troops became attached to the Ryuken-san on a permanent basis. The Ryuken demanded that soldiers with such skill be kept part of their unit and they further reinforced Tokoyama's troops to a full company of heavy tanks, although the differing models of the new additions caused some friction. Tokoyama argued with his superiors to have the C3 computer-equipped machines swapped for the standard variant tanks in order to ensure all of his vehicles had identical performance specifications.[1]

Chu-i Nelson Tokoyama commanded a Narukami Heavy Tank as part of the Ryuken-san.[1]
