Michael Cirion was a pirate under the employ of the Circinus Federation.
History
Michael was the only son of Adam Cirion, the commander of the Black Warriors. When Adam died in a tavern brawl in November 3032, Michael was deemed to young to take his place as tradition dictated. President C. J. McIntyre declared himself the leader of the Warriors until Cirion was old and experienced enough to receive his inheritance.[2] Cirion became embittered by what he saw as McIntyre's theft of his birthright and began scheming to regain his family's command.[3]
Cirion would eventually rise to the rank of Captain within the Black Warriors. After watching McIntyre blunder for years and what was supposed to be his command whittled down from three regiments to two understrength battalions, Cirion managed to organize a coup attempt in 3041. The coup failed to remove McIntyre, but did force him to acknowledge his failures and transfer command of the Warriors to Fritz Donner.[4] Cirion was arrested for his role in the coup, but had managed to maintain enough separation between himself and the rebels that his family's influence in the Circinian courts saw him acquitted of treason.[5]
On July 21st, 3067, Cirion received the long-awaited news of his promotion to Colonel of the Black Warriors. Fritz Donner charged Cirion with the mission of defecting from the now-Blakist controlled Federation and bringing what intelligence he had on the Word of Blake's plans to the Eridani Light Horse.[6] Cirion and his men remained on the run for three months before the Opacus Venatori under Precentor Avitue caught up with them in a nameless system. Cirion as forced to watch as the Blakists killed his entire crew. Rather than finish him off Avitue presented Cirion to Precentor Apollyon as proof of her mission's success.[7] Cirion suffered close to a month of torture at Apollyon's hands before breaking.[1]
