Melford Dennis was the commanding officer of the Robinson Operational Area's Raman PDZ as of 3050.[1]
History
Marshal Dennis, serving under Marshal Eugene Drivers, was executive officer of the Raman PDZ in 3025. Simultaneously, Dennis was commanding officer of the First Chisholm's Raiders and was stationed on Royal.[2].
During the Fourth Succession War, Dennis and the First Raiders were trapped on Deshler by the Third and Sixth Benjamin Regulars, although the Raiders' superior maneuverability prevented them from being outright defeated. When active fighting resumed in May 3029, the Benjamin Regulars' larger numbers began to gradually wear down Dennis' troops, and by June the Raiders only had four companies of BattleMechs and half of their conventional assets. When the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns ordered the Raiders to retreat from Deshler, Dennis elected to send the unit's JumpShips and DropShips back empty, believing that his men would best serve the Federated Suns by keeping the two opposing regiments tied down. While the Raiders did manage to survive for another full month, all but a handful of soldiers were killed after they were caught and crushed in a small valley.[3]
Dennis, having survived the destruction of the First Chisholm's Raiders, was promoted to command of the Federated Commonwealth's Raman PDZ in the Draconis March by 3050 and continued to hold the post as of 3054.[1][4]
