Sergeant Mathilde Evans was a MechWarrior, who served in the Twentieth Avalon Hussars Regimental Combat Team's Eighth Company, as of 3068.[2]
History
FedCom Civil War
As of 3068 Evans was a member of CCC/Charlie/8Co Strike Lance, of Eighth (Charlie) Company ("the Crazy Eights"), with the Twentieth Avalon Hussars' Charile Battalion Combat Command C.[2]
Considered an average MechWarrior before the FedCom Civil War, during that conflict she became a brutally efficient killing machine, racking up a Crazy Eights record 32 confirmed kills. This record would have been more impressive, except for Evans' habit of using her 'Mechs maneuverability to herd damaged enemies in front of the guns of her lancemates, for them to destroy.[1]
Of Evans' confirmed kills, 21 were racked up on Marlette during engagements such as the one known as the The Battle in the Blizzard in 3067, against the Marlette Crucis March Militia. The Crazy Eights celebrated these achievements with an annual "Blizzard Night" for decades afterwards, which concluded with a furniture-annihilating re-enactment.[3]
Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE
Generally terse and uncommunicative while off-duty, when in a fight Evans was cheerful and talkative in action. During Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE, this tendency expressed itself by Evans expressing skepticism about invasion of the Capellan Confederation, but was still credited with four confirmed kills against McCarron's Armored Cavalry on Ares.
These were however her last kills, as while on Randar during the Capellan counterattacks, Evans was killed by a direct hit from a Naval Particle Projector Cannon.[1]
BattleMech
Evans was known to have piloted a FLC-8R Falconer BattleMech.[2]
