Marjorie van Elder was a notable officer in the Third Canopian Cuirassiers during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
In March 3145, Commander van Elder lead a strike company of the Third Canopian Cuirassiers in a joint raid on the planet Glevakha alongside the Duchy of Andurien's Fourth Andurien Cavalry.[1] While the raid was only meant to gauge the strength of the planet's defenses, matters went awry when a company of the elite Fourth Rim Commonality Guards happened to be present while undergoing arctic mountaineering exercises. The significant amount of minerals present in the Kyyivska Peaks prevented the raiders from detecting the Fourth Guards' BattleMechs and the hidden foe struck against their DropShips as van Elder and the Anduriens were busy assaulting New Kiev and its surrounding cities. Racing back to the transports in response to the crews' calls for help, van Elder's force was able to use their speed and firepower to drive off the Fourth Guards just long enough to escape off-world.[2][3]
While van Elder had been in line for a promotion at the time of the Glevakha raid, nearly losing a company of modern BattleMechs and two DropShips dealt a serious blow to her hopes of advancement. Despite this set back, she remained eager to redeem herself as soon as the opportunity became available.[1]
