Maria Gutierrez was the finest pilot in the Free Worlds League and even the best in the Successor States depending on whom it was asked in 3025.[3]
History
Maria Gutierrez had 22 kill markers by 3025 making her count the biggest on the Free Worlds League, though that by that time she rarely was allowed to fly having taken onerous desk or administrative duties. A model officer that when allowed to fly was a dangerous and near-unbeatable opponent was considering demotion to go back to the front lines.[3]
Once she went civilian, she founded Gutierrez Aerospace in 3040 after the League government pressured Andurien AeroTech into licensing the Stingray to her startup company in an attempt keep up with demand for the popular fighter. Hers was the only small Aerospace firm in the Free Worlds League due to government sponsorship of Imstar Aerospace and Andurien AeroTech, but the company survived thanks to the popularity among techs and pilots for its precision built and hand finished fighters.[3]
