Logan Kekelinov was the commanding officer of the Eighth Sword of Light during the War of 3039.[1]
History
During the first wave of the War of 3039, Tai-sa Kekelinov's Second Battalion was stationed on Delacruz and destroyed when the planet was invaded by the Forty-second Avalon Hussars and Third Lyran Regulars. In response, the rest of Kekelinov's Eighth Sword joined the Second and Fourth An Ting Legions when they counter-invaded Delacruz on 3 August 3039. Although fierce resistance from enemy aerospace forces prevented the Draconis Combine troops from gaining orbital superiority, the tide of the battle quickly swung in the Kuritans' favor once they made planetfall. When Kekelinov attached two of his battalions to an An Ting diversionary maneuver to distract the hostile garrison from an underwater assault against Delacruz's primary military installation, the resulting surprise attack shattered the Third Lyran Regulars and gave the Combine the initiative.[1]
For the remainder of August, Kekelinov's Sworders and the An Ting Legionnaires island-hopped across the planet, evicting the Forty-second Hussars' soldiers with ease whenever they resisted. By the end of the month, only the island of Delilah and the military base on the island of Thune remained in enemy hands, and the Federated Suns soldiers lacked the morale to endure a long siege. One last assault against Thune on 3 September succeeded in destroying the Hussars' will to fight and, by the end of that week, Delacruz was back under Combine control.[1]
