Lien Jew was a notable tank commander in Warrior House Tsang Xiao during the Republic Age.[1]
History
In 3117, Warrior House Tsang Xiao and the mercenary Kraken Unleashed had detachments stationed on Shuen Wan when the world was attacked by elements of the Fourth Oriente Hussars. Yi-si-ben-bing Jew commanded the Capellan Confederation defenders' heavy tank platoon and deployed to meet the Hussars atop a high desert plateau near the Old Lanzhou textile factory, hulls down and ready to hold the northern flank. Jew's position was pushed by a company of Hussars medium BattleMechs who, expecting the tankers to retreat once their position came under threat, were completely caught off guard when the Confederation tanks neutralized two of their 'Mechs with extreme accuracy. The Hussars scattered in an attempt to reach the tanks' position without being neutralized but they continued to suffer heavy losses on their approach without eliminating a single one of Jew's vehicles. By the time the medium 'Mech company disengaged, more than half of their number had been lost and all four of Jew's tanks remained combat capable.[2][3]
A further push from a lance of heavy 'Mechs met with even worse results, as Jew's men used precision long-range fire to force the enemy warriors into a deadly crossfire between two other Capellan companies, leading to the destruction of all four heavy BattleMechs. Not once during the battle did Jew's tankers withdraw and, most surprisingly, all four of her vehicles remained operational by the conflict's close.[2][3] She later earned the Grand Cordon of Merit for her actions during the Shuen Wan raid and, following her retirement in 3135, continued to operate prototype combat vehicles as a test pilot for Aldis Industries.[1]
