Leticia Herszmann was the commanding officer of Herszmann's Heralds of the First Davion Auxiliaries during the late Dark Age Era.[1]
History
A former member of the Kell Hounds mercenary command, Brevet Leftenant Herszmann joined First Prince Julian Davion's First Auxiliaries just before they began their return to the Federated Suns from the conflict with the Clans. While the reasons for Herszmann's departure from the Hounds never became known, her solid scouting performances earned her a field promotion and command of a mixed lance of reconnaissance vehicles and VTOLs she coined "The Heralds." During the Battle of New Syrtis in 3147, Herszmann's Heralds provided the Illician Lancers and Twelfth Vegan Rangers with significant assistance, although after three months of heavy urban warfare only Herszmann was left alive.[1]
When Capellan Confederation terrorits ravaged New Syrtis in 3148, Herszmann underwent a nervous collapse and became so withdrawn from the world that her superiors were considering relieving her from active duty. When the Capellans launched yet another assault a month later, Herszmann died during the fighting for New Syrtis' capital city after ramming into a Ti Ts'ang that was attempting to engage with Julian Davion's command lance. Herszmann's suicidal attack not only crippled the Capellan BattleMech, it was considered possible that she had saved the First Prince's life with her actions.[1]
