Lars Borjon was a scout MechWarrior, who commanded the two recon companies of the Rasalhague Freemen during the Word of Blake Jihad.[1][2]

History

Lars was born in 3047 on Grumium to a martial family that sent all his older siblings to the KungsArmé. Showing apptitude for scouting in light BattleMechs, he graduated from Tyra Miraborg Memorial Academy on the eve of the Jihad. Assigned to the Second Freemen on Dehgolan he prepared for a Word attack that never came.[1]

After annexation by Clan Ghost Bear Lars was both reluctant and unsuccessful in a Trial of Position to remain in the armed forces. He petitioned saKhan Ragnar Magnusson to allow warriors who failed their Trials to form a unit and join Devlin Stone's coalition. Seeing this as a method to be rid of resentful ex-warriors and aid the coalition, the saKhan agreed. Lars assembled two reinforced companies which were named Rasalhague Freemen. Operating primarily as a recon force, they threw themselves into the fight with remarkable fury.[1]

Lars participated in Operation SCOUR with Stone's Coalition, helping to liberate New Earth in 3078, as part of the Free Rasalhague Republic's contribution to the effort to defeat the Word of Blake. Following the Jihad, Lars joined the newly formed Republic of the Sphere, with other Coalition soldiers who believed in Devlin Stone's vision.[2]

This contribution provided Lars with some small measure of fame, of which his family remained proud for years afterwards, including his grandniece Irena Borjon who served with the Triarii Protectors in the 3130s.[2]
