The Kerensky Dominion was one of the Pentagon Powers, a collection of warlord states living in the ruins of the Star League in Exile. The Dominion occupied a portion of Circe's northern habitable zone.[1]
History
The Kerensky Dominion was formed by Terran expatriates who attempted to hold true to the Star League's ideals despite the chaos of the Pentagon Civil War. Their idealistic stance meant the Dominion refused to invade its neighbours and instead attempted to maintain neutrality or act as a peacekeeper. Avoiding combat meant the Dominion enjoyed fewer losses and thus a higher level of technology than other Pentagon states. The Dominion was governed by triumvirate representing the military, political and religious elements of their society.[1]
During Operation Klondike, the Dominion enthusiastically pledged allegiance to the Clans due to residual loyalty to Aleksandr Kerensky. Unfortunately for the Dominion, although Clan Snow Raven was optimistic about their partnership, ilKhan Nicholas Kerensky was much less willing to extend trust, and didn't greet the Dominion with the open arms they were expecting.[1]
The Dominion assisted the Ravens in subduing the Empire of Hidalgo and Tabor Voivoidate.[1] Over the course of the fighting the Dominion came to realize that new society Nicholas was building had little resemblance to the Star League, and that rather than being equal partners they were expected to obey without question. Many in the Dominion's armed forces began to complain that they were being treated as little more than canon fodder. Tensions finally exploded when Stephen McKenna killed Dominion Colonel Michael Guillory after the latter allegedly attempted to assassinate the former. Dominion troops reacted to the killing by attempting to storm Dehra Dun, coming close to shattering the Ravens, but were ultimately defeated in what became known as the Battle of Bitter Tears. Before the rest of the Dominion could learn of the battle Clans Snow Raven and Wolverine executed a preexisting plan to disarm the Dominion's military, bringing it's independent existence to a close.[2]
