Kellen Taylor was the commander of the reconnaissance company of the Fifth Sword of Light during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
Tai-i Taylor was one of the youngest company commanders in the Fifth Sword of Light, having attained his position by single-handedly eliminating a Federated Suns' Thunderbolt after his commanding officer was killed during the Palmyra Debacle. This display of skill epitomized the Fifth Sword's bushido philosophy but marked Taylor as a priority target for Federated Suns forces all along the Draconis Combine's border.[1]
During the Fifth Sword's invasion of Gambier, Taylor lead two lances of BattleMechs against the planetary militia. After catching a militia detachment in the open, the speed of Taylor's 'Mechs and the strength of their supporting Dragon II artillery 'Mechs gave the Combine forces the edge over the defending Davions. The Fifth Sworders immediately disabled two Sortek hovercraft with their armor-piercing munitions and the terrified militiamen, seemingly unable to damage the encroaching Combine 'Mechs, risked routing even before Taylor's men made direct contact. Once Taylor decapitated the militia commander's Enforcer with his sword, the militia broke and ran. In under an hour of fighting, Gambier was under the control of the Draconis Combine.[2][3]
