Illya Stroncek was a notable APC commander in the KungsArme during the Ronin War.[1]
History
Overste-Lojtnant Stroncek was a member of Last Frontier's militia force when a force of ronin Draconis Combine soldiers invaded the planet in 3034. Unable to effectively resist the invaders, the militiamen entrenched themselves and awaited the arrival of reinforcements from off-world, which came in the form of Tai-sa Bruce Morganstern's battered Combine-loyal troops. While the militia provided Morganstern with logistical support, the two opposing Combine forces waged a brutal conflict that dealt considerable collateral damage to Last Frontier's people. On 14 November, as two BattleMech companies faced off in the Belville Mountains, Stroncek attempted to warn both sides that the small farming community of Navassa was in the middle of their proposed arena. When the Combine commanders refused to disengage, Stroncek's APCs raced under the guns of the 'Mechs in an attempt to rescue the two thousand citizens of Navassa from harm. When the last ronin warrior was defeated on 15 November, Navassa had been entirely erased by the fighting 'Mech's weapons, although not a single civilian life was lost thanks to the efforts of Stroncek's men.[1]
