Hideki Grauman was the commanding officer of the First Amphigean Light Assault Group as of 3039.[1]
History
On 12 July 3039, Sho-sho Grauman lead the First and Second Amphigean Light Assault Groups in liberating the world of New Mendham from the Davion Light Guards and First Chisholm's Raiders. The Federated Suns occupiers were caught unprepared, with their forces spread across the planet and numerous regions of New Mendham still rife with Draconis Combine-aligned partisans. However, the FedSuns troops possessed many of the LAG's capabilities, which required Grauman to wait three weeks for New Mendham's resistance movements to sufficiently undermine his enemy's hold on the world. These tactics ceased to work when Colonel Gregory Sykes of the Light Guards began waging a war of terror that destroyed much of New Mendham's military infrastructure and civilian communications systems, causing an information blackout and panic in the populace. Grauman was forced to commit too many resources to calming down New Mendham's people, giving the Light Guards enough breathing room to counterattack.[1]
The first FedSuns assault occurred on 11 August, although it proved to be indecisive. The First Raiders proved too slow to catch the Amphigean LAG in the field but the faster units of the Davion Light Guards soon began winning an increasing amount of small engagements. While this meant the Amphigeans could be gradually worn down, the heavy losses being dealt to the First Raiders in the process effectively created a stalemate on New Mendham. By the time the FedSuns forces were ordered to withdraw on 22 October, they had definitively learned the battlefield value of a well-trained and well-equipped light unit like Grauman's LAG.[1]
