Leftenant Colonel Henry Ikeda was a MechWarrior, who served in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns, during the late twenty-eighth century and early twenty-ninth century.[2]

History

Early Career

A rare MechWarrior graduate of Point Barrow Military Academy, Ikeda was a taciturn student, who few got to know well.[1]

Crazy Eights

As of 2765 the then Leftenant Ikeda was the commander of I Lance, of Eighth Company ("the Crazy Eights"), with the Twentieth Avalon Hussars' Charlie Battalion.[2] During this assignment, he became romantically involved with his fellow Crazy Eights Lance Commander Jack Wexler, with whom he considered himself engaged.

However in 2766 Wexler defected to the Capellan Confederation, a betrayal Ikeda considered personal, and he blamed himself for failing to spot his former lovers' disloyalty. Wexler reunited with his old Federated Suns unit in 2767 at the head of a Capellan raid, during which Ikeda was badly injured.[1]

Revenge

Once Ikeda recovered from his injuries, he took a leave of absence from the AFFS, and used his life savings to track down and kill his former lover. Finding Wexler after 3 years of searching, hiding in the Periphery as a pirate, Ikeda killed him in 2770 during a gunfight.[1]

Fourteenth Avalon Hussars

Upon his return to the AFFS, Ikeda was assigned to the Fourteenth Avalon Hussars, where he allegedly was tasked with planning black ops in Capellan space.[1]

First Succession War

During the First Succession War, Ikeda was transferred to the First Avalon Hussars, having the rank of Leftenant Colonel by 2789. He however ultimately suffered an inner ear injury, which left him unable to pilot a 'Mech, and ended his frontline service.[1]

Retirement

In the last years of his life, Ikeda helped train militia units on the Periphery border, until his was well into his seventies. When he was found dead in 2836, his spartan living quarters were noted to have had few possessions, apart from an old holo of himself and his late partner Jack Wexler.[1]

BattleMech

Ikeda was known to have piloted a FS9-H Firestarter BattleMech.[2]
