Heironymo Danner was a notable armored infantryman in the New Syrtis Capellan March Militia during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
In 3139, Sergeant Danner commanded one of two squads of New Syrtis CMM battle armor troopers dispatched to raid a Capellan Confederation training camp on Nihal. When the March Militia infantry came under heavy fire while sheltering within a building, the other squad of soldiers were killed when their weaker reflective armor was crushed by elements of the collapsing building. Danner's men survived the barrage and were able to both complete their mission and escape the planet.[2][3]
Upon returning to New Syrtis, Danner and his men were offered the opportunity to upgrade their suits to the more advanced reflective armor variant as a reward for their success. Danner and all of his men refused the offer after having seen their compatriots perish on Nihal but their commander continued to push the matter out of fear of offending the noble who acquired the suits for the militia's use. Danner notably responded by saying "When someone offers you a shiny new sword, it does no one any good to fall on it." Afterwards, all of the other members of Danner's battle armor company recognized the point he was making and switched their suits to the less advanced, but far sturdier, non-reflective suits.[1]
