Heihachiro Bora was a notable tank commander in the Ryuken-ni during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
Gunsho Bora was the commander of a heavy tank in the Ryuken-ni's Tachi Company when the unit battled against Duke Corwin Sandoval's Fourth Federated Suns Lancers on Barlow's Folly in 3141. When Tachi Company's battalion commander lost her BattleMech and had to be ferried away from the fighting inside Tai-i Garron Toshido's machine, Bora and his fellow tankers volunteered their vehicles as rearguard defenders. While ultimately overrun by Federated Suns battle armor troopers, Tachi Company's crewmen managed to eliminate a dozen hovertanks and six BattleMechs before their defeat.[2][3]
Along with the rest of Tachi Company, Bora's efforts proved critical in holding off the Fourth Lancers long enough for the Ryuken-ni battalion to escape annihilation. Furthermore, Bora and his tank's gunner were credited with disabling the Davion commander's Ostwar 'Mech, although the arrival of the remainder of their foe's command lance meant they could not capture him. Bora's crew were forcibly removed from their tank at the end of the battle by the Lancers' infantry and spent time in a prisoner of war camp on Robinson before being liberated.[1]
