Feral is a short story by Jason Schmetzer that was first published online on BattleCorps on 8 August 2008. It was later republished in print in the fifth BattleCorps anthology Counterattack in 2014.

Plot Summary
An operation on New Canton that had been four months in the planning sees two Points of Nighthawk–Power Armor (Light) equipped commandos of Wolf's Dragoons' Seventh Kommando break into the Word of Blake-controlled HPG compound to obtain intel on the WoB's plans for the Chaos March. At the same time, more overt Wolf's Dragoons forces stage a diversion raid.
However, seconds before the operation starts Lieutenant Peter Whitehorse learns of Jaime Wolf's death and the "Condition Feral" order to all Dragoons. Consequently, the Nighthawk troopers take no prisoners and kill every Word of Blake member they come across with extreme prejudice to the point where Tara, a Clan Nova Cat adoptee, is objecting to the slaughter.
Finally, Peter and Tara reach the computer core and download the data, but are interrupted by four Purifier battle armors which they have to be overcome in close-quarters combat using vibroblades. Despite heavy losses to the Nighthawks, the raid is ultimately successful. Peter and Tara meet up with the Dragoons OmniMech force outside of the HPG compound and move to their DropShip.

Notes
- The "Major Kormenski" who appears in this story, as the senior Dragoons officer on New Canton, does not appear to be the Major Olga Kormenski who was Jaime Wolf's security chief. Olga Kormenski was a woman and was reported to have died on Glenmora in 3029, whereas the New Canton Major Kormenski (whose first name remains unmentioned) is referred to as a man and the story takes place in 3067 many years after Olga Kormenski's death.
