Edward "Shinto" McNeil was a notable officer in the Third Crucis Lancers during the late Succession Wars Era and Clan Invasion Era.[1]
History
Leftenant McNeil commanded a reconnaissance lance during a raid against Fellanin II in 3047 and surprised the other members of his unit when he dismounted from his BattleMech in order to enter a Shinto shrine. After being inside the shrine for several minutes, McNeil rejoined his men and lead them in a flanking attack against a lance of far heavier Ryuken-go machines. McNeil's superstitious comrades soon spread the story of his actions on Fellanin throughout the rest of the Third Lancers, earning him the permanent nickname of "Shinto."[1]
BattleMech
Leftenant Edward McNeil piloted a Fire Javelin BattleMech during the late Succession Wars. In the Clan Invasion Era, he upgraded his Javelin in order to overcome its inherent heat buildup issues.[1]
