Dezgra

Dezgra is a Clan term for a disgraced individual, unit, or Clan.
Description
This disgrace can come from either refusing orders, panicking in the face of the enemy, or committing dishonorable conduct. It may even come from being roundly defeated by an enemy that itself is considered inferior. This term also refers to the ceremony where a unit is marked and punished. [1][2] [3][4]
Any unit bearing this name is considered "tainted" and honorable warriors avoid dealings with the unit as much as possible. This can restrict the unit being involved in bids, and, when bid into combat, the actions it can take. Dezgra units are given poor quality replacements and looked down upon by all the Clans.
One example was the Falcon Guards after their defeat on Twycross when the unit was tricked into entering a trap and nearly destroyed. The Guards were rebuilt for historical reasons but considered a dezgra unit and used as a dumping ground for disgraced, problematic or freeborn warriors. The label dezgra can also be applied to tactics used, such as the conduct of the DCMS when they destroyed the CSR White Cloud.[5]
On Terra in 3150 when the Wolf Empire made landfall, the bid was made between the Republic Exarch Devlin Stone and Wolf Khan Alaric Ward, "...I presumed you would defend it with all you have, and I intend to come at it with all I have. If I were to bid, it would be Clan Wolf. My entire Clan.” Later, once the Jade Falcons arrived, they began to attack the Republic forces and completely ignored the Wolves. It was determined and released to the Inner Sphere through couriers and jumpships that the Wolf and Jade Falcon clans violated the agreement between the two leaders by Republic personnel. Nearly every Clan has declared that the supposed "ilKhan" did in fact violate the bidding agreement although no unified action has been taken due to the dezgra act, yet.
Another example took place in 3152 in the Rasalhague Dominion when Hjalmer Miraborg made an attempt to kill off someone he saw as a political threat: Alpha Galaxy Commander Lars Magnusson. While seeking out Surkai after the actions of his command, Hjalmer quickly declared a Trial of Grievance. A large Clan warrior himself, Lars looked curiously at Khan Dalia Bekker and before he looked back, Hjalmer had drawn a blade and plunged it into Lars' chest. At this point Operation Ursus Major went into effect. Lars' rescuers also found poison in his body. During their escape, his rescuers sent the data and footage to the Alpha Galaxy Command around the planet. Soon, the forces loyal to Hjalmer were decimated, he was labelled dezgra then fled, and Lars and Alpha Galaxy vanished.
