Dana was a notable officer in the Wolf Empire's touman during the Dark Age Era.[1]
History
During the 3143 Battle of Tharkad, Galaxy Commander Alaric Ward decided to counter the Lyran Commonwealth's infamous "wall of steel" tactics by concentrating his assault BattleMechs into a single Binary of elite pilots.[2][3] Star Captain Dana—a member of a faded but still prestigious Kerensky bloodline—was not quite a ristar but possessed enough skill to be chosen for a posting to Ward's Binary.[1] On 13 July, the Wolf assault Binary threw itself against the Second Royal Guards defending the Nagelring and battled for two straight hours until the threat of encirclement and the depletion of their ammunition forced them to withdraw.[2][3] While Dana's OmniMech was the only Wolf machine to be destroyed during the struggle, an unfortunate fault in her machine's ejection system lead to a bad landing that ruined both of her legs. While her subsequent decision to install a pair of bionic legs cost her the chance to compete in a Trial of Bloodright for her Kerensky name, the sight of her new limbs made her a terrifying presence for the civilians of the Wolf Empire.[1]
