"Crusading" Crael was an Inner Sphere gladiator during the Clan Invasion and a staff member of the Solaris Home Defense League during the Jihad.[1]
History
"Crusading" Crael was an aggressive, exaggerated pitfighter who reigned as champion in Antallos' DeathRain Arena for much of the 3050s. Crael's origins were unclear, and his own claim that he was born from the union between a lightning bolt and a Periphery pirate queen was dubious, but he successfully decimated many wannabe gladiators. In 3057, a mercenary fighter hired by Duke Morris Davion-Harland finally defeated Crael in the arena, destroying his custom BattleMech in the process.[2] Crael resurfaced on Solaris VII in 3059, sporting an eyepatch and working as a color commentator for the game world's own fights. No longer able to pilot a 'Mech, Crael became a key staff member of the Solaris Home Defense League following the launch of the Word of Blake's Jihad and died to a headhunter strike just days before the Blakists retreated in 3071.[1]
BattleMech
"Crusading" Crael took his name from his custom Crusader BattleMech, the machine he piloted until its destruction in 3057, which was notable for its spiked claws and concealed SRM launchers.[1][3]
