Casandra Aachen was a tank commander in the Lyran Second Armored Brigade during Operation GUERRERO.[1]
History
Staff Sergeant Aachen joined the Lyran Second Armored Brigade with a blank combat record, having spent several years quietly posted along the Lyran Commonwealth/Free Worlds League border before receiving command of a heavy tank. While her seemingly non-existent background lead to numerous rumors, Aachen's avoidance of the spotlight persisted until the invasion of Devil's Rock during Operation GUERRERO. As the attacking Third Free Worlds Guards broke through the planetary militia's defenses, Aachen planted her tank atop a prominent ridgeline and quickly eliminated two Guards BattleMechs with direct hits to their cockpits. When two more Hammers attempted to flank her position, Aachen's infantry support struck them with a hail of inferno SRMs before she shifted fire and destroyed them. Finally, a lance of Cavalry VTOLs struck against Aachen's position, destroying her vehicle as she remained behind to cover the infantry's retreat.[1]
In honor of Aachen's defense of the ridgeline, Devil's Rock locals named the site of her last stand Aachen's Ridge.[1]
