A hobby once more... The Gates Have Held
Battletech into the future is the movement by fans for fans of Battletech. The entire purpose of Battletech into the Future is for players to enjoy an online hobby space free from anything that has nothing to do with the hobby - especially real world politics. The majority of those in roles surrounding the current IP-licensee consistently use their position online as a soapbox to promote their political views (as well as extremely inappropriate desires).
Due to this bad conduct, Minis & Dumbbells created the movement to return the online portion of the hobby to where it was years ago: A place for Battletech and Battletech ONLY.
As of 5/22/2025 the Facebook group has over 950 participants.
The Discord group has over 200 members.
Battletech into the Future helped to create other groups with a more specific focus. Where many of the bad actor activists control a number of online social media spaces and only allow their views, some of these sister groups provide like-minded areas for fans treated poorly by these activists. Players can specifically decide where they want to associate if they want to associate in places other than the Refuge that is Battletech into the Future.
