Overview
Operation STILETTO was a campaign conducted by mercenary forces on behalf of General Motors and Johnston Industries. Two task forces struck at Acamar and Genoa, worlds within what had become known as the Chaos March, intending to help stabilize the region enough to facilitate continued trade.[1]
Preparations
Forces working for the liberation taskforce would deploy at the end of 3060 to start investigationg the planet's defenders, locations, deployments and anything of tactical relevance.[2]
Battle
On the 9th of February 3061 the first two lances sent to planet to secure a landing zone in the Osz Forest for the mercenary forces working for Operation STILETTO where wiped out by elements of the Legion of Truth second and third battalions that were later dislodged by a 'Mech company droppd via an Overlord-clas Dropship and with support by two straffing runs of the Leopard-class DropShips the Madman and the Nugent. The survivng Truth's forces retreated northwest into the hills of the Otal Mountains while the attacked forces stablished their staging area in the city of Huss.[3]
Having stablished that city as their main hub, Calvin Noru detected some weakness in Anton Corrigan's deployment plan and organized a deception transfering troops thought the Trans-Mahn valley that took the mercenary taskforce off guard and a small raid force composed of hoovers raided the hub where spares and consumibles of the invasion force were stored.[4]
Three days later Anton Corrigan was able to restructure his forces and use his aerospace support units to fight forcing Noru to retreat. After that Corrigan's counter proved Flat with nearlt a battalion of BattleMechs and even raided Kalskag laying waste to Noru's palace and command center plus several of his repair garages. During that fight Jesús Khasparov, commanding officer of Khasparov's Knights and under contract from Noru dies, costing him a good ally.[5]
After that the four involved factions were the Legion of Truth, the Scarlet Guard, Connor's Ransackers, and Robert's Dreaded. Withy help from Khasparov's Knights and the Provisional Acamar Cavalry the Legion of Truth won the day. The commanding officer of the Legion of Truth, General Sline, captured Noru and sentenced him to death. That drew the ire of the two legitimate forces supporting Noru, the same two that had supported him. Those two units banded together and rescued Noru. Noru cut his losses and escaped off world with the Knights. His coalition was broken and the capital city of the planet, Kalskag, was left on Provisional Acamar Cavalry arms that declared it a free and neutral city. By the 19 of April 3061 Kalskag Coalition was no more. The survivors of the Legion of Truth joined Robert's Dreaded.[6]
The GM forces had won, but the fight was not yet over. Anton Corrigan contacted Acamar's Freedom Guild to set a stable governments on Acamar.[6]
But there were still active three large and several small mercenary turned pirate bands, and they had to be cleansed. During one of these operations two aerospace fighters were downed in the Tomahn Moraine. At that point Corrigan sent a rescue force that engaged the Scarlet Guard and once got the pilots had to escape under fire from the Scarlet Guard.[6]
Corrigan used that moment to strike the Scarlet Guard. Both commanding officers, Brigadier-General Corrigan and Captain-Colonel Miegs plan's were foiled by the survivors of the Second Provisional Acamar Cavalry lead by Captain Ruby Keyes (a Noru's supporter) that appeared and tried to crush the Scarlet Guard. The Scarlet Guard decided to concentrate on destroying the Second Provisional Acamar Cavalry which they did after approximately one week. But in doing so left their base of opperations less protected and Stiletto forces stormed their base, leaving them without a resting place and a way off-planet.[7]
Aftermath
On April 3061, twelve hours after the cease-fire proposed by Corrigan, Emmet Fletcher was elected President of the Acamar Parliament.[7]
